This piece originated from experiment number 2 in my minor in writing course. My goal was to capture a small moment of joy in my life and translate that to the page. I find in my writing classes that people feel the need to only write about heavy and intense topics, so I wanted to do the opposite by capturing a moment of joy. Inspired by Ross Gay, I tried to emphasize that raw joy does not mean sugarcoating the hard realities in life, but instead focusing on the joy that can coexist within that.
